The Moaning Myrtles

Photos by Grace Kendall

We are two best friends from Hillsborough, NJ who make up this piano-based wizard rock band that writes music exclusively from Moaning Myrtle’s perspective. The Myrtles were one of the first wizard rock bands in existence and we continue to be among the most active bands in the community. Our main drummer is our friend from home, Justin Bulava, but we’ve had many guest drummers in the past such as Jarrod Perkins of Gred and Forge and Kyle Lowder of The Mudbloods.
After starting to play live shows in summer 2006, we were both hooked and we’ve gone on to play everything from house parties to libraries to festivals like Wrockstock to huge conferences such as Portus, Terminus, and LeakyCon 2009. We have shared a stage with many fantastic wizard rock bands such as The Whomping Willows, The Parselmouths, Draco and the Malfoys, Ministry of Magic, and even Harry and the Potters.
The wizard rock community encourages its members to be DIY in all of their efforts. We write, perform, record, and produce all of our own music in addition to handling all of our own promotion and show booking. When you buy our CDs or merchandise, you’re directly supporting us and making it so we can continue to play shows and release CDs. Thank you so much… we literally couldn’t keep doing this without you!

I can’t find them anywhere. Sorry. You could listen and figure them out?

Thanks for your answer. I listened to it so many times, trying to figure out this one little part. I can only find live versions of the song (and me not being a native speaker is not helping either) and it’s driving me crazy not knowing the words of the whole song.
But still thanks a lot. Your work it inspiring.

Hey, Lauren! I love your music! I’m going to miss one of your tour stops by about a week, which makes me sad, but hopefully you’ll be at LeakyCon and I can see you there!
